Mastering Darija, the Moroccan spoken language, is an important part for the linguistic, cultural and professional integration of migrants. Many immigrants do not master Moroccan local languages, which is a real challenge for their socio-cultural and professional integration. Therefore, the project aims at developing a new method of learning Darija for non-Arabic speaking migrants and refugees.

The direct beneficiaries of this project are the multipliers and facilitators of civil society organizations who develop the capacity to apply the training module. Migrants and non-Arabic speaking refugees who will participate in language and integration courses adjusted to their needs will then indirectly benefit of this project. The courses allow non-Arabic speaking migrants and refugees to communicate more easily in the local language as well as to improve their knowledge about the history, civilization and socio-cultural specificities of their host country.

By facilitating the social integration of migrants and strengthening their confidence as new members of the Moroccan society, the project contributes to making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (SDG 11).
