Patry

Line Patry has been Director of Outreach for the Communications Branch at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) since 2017.

She first joined the department in 2012 as the Assistant Director of Consultations and Public Opinion Research where she led the implementation of a new departmental stakeholder relationship management database. Since then, she has led on a number of significant changes and initiatives, including drastically growing IRCC’s social media presence and implementation of a client service Chabot that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to answer general questions.

She was also fundamental in the development of the Immigration Matters initiative, which showcases the stories of immigrants who are making a strong contribution to cities, towns and neighbourhoods across Canada. She has held several public opinion research positions at Industry Canada and Environment Canada.

Mrs. Patry has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Double Concentration in Communication from the University of Ottawa, and worked as a public opinion and market research professional before joining the public service.
