Amr El-Sherbini is the Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister of Egypt for Refugees, Migration & Combating Trafficking since October 2019.
He has been in the Egyptian Foreign Service since 1995 and served in the following positions:
- Deputy Head of the Egypt’s Mission to the EU, NATO and Belgium (Brussels, 2015-2019).
- Director of the United Nations Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cairo, 2011-2015).
- Political Councilor at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations (New York, 2006-2011).
- Political Adviser on Arab Affairs at the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt (Cairo, 2003-2006).
- Political Officer at the Embassy of Egypt in Syria (Damascus, 1999-2003).
- Political Officer at the International Multilateral Relations Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cairo, 1996-1999).
He participated in several international and regional meetings and worked closely on issues related to multilateral affairs, international organizations, peace and security and conflicts.
