
With the objective of improving the integration of migrants in Morocco, GIZ commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supports local actors in the implementation of pilot projects to facilitate economic, social and cultural integration. The project "Bien Vivre Ensemble" (Living well together) which is being carried out in the district of CYM in Rabat aims at improving the integration of migrants by raising awareness about the importance of the values of living together.
Another objective is to promote interculturality among migrants and Moroccans through cultural and artistic activities.
Training workshops on interculturality will help people to live peacefully together in diversity. The realization and installation of street art and urban furniture will transform the neighborhood in an open, intercultural and inclusive space at long-term. This initiative contributes to realizing SDG 11 „Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable“ by carrying out activities and pilot actions that will strengthen social cohesion in the neighborhood.
A kick-off workshop of the project was lauched on 12 December 2018 in Rabat, in the Cité Yacoub El Mansour, that has a large concentration of migrant population. This has allowed up to 477 young Moroccans and migrants to benefit from the activities.
