This document reflects the collaboration between the ILO and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Labour to ensure the effective implementation of the Sri Lankan National Labour Migration Policy. The three objectives are to:

1) strenghten policy, legal and institutional frameworks of the migration process and protection and empowerment of migrant workers and their families;

2) review and enhance the processes for improved governance, protection and empowerment;

3) improve efficiency and effectiveness of protection and grievance mechanisms and procedures through institutional strengthening.
