This Diaspora Database supports the Migration for Development in Africa (MIDA) project which is a comprehensive guiding framework to accommodate the desire of migrants and diaspora members to contribute to the development of their countries of origin, and to facilitate the circulation of their competencies, expertise and experience in Africa. The database gathers critical information such as migrants' countries of origin, countries of residence, educational and professional backgrounds, etc., which enable MIDA to identify and assess the actual profiles and resources of the African diaspora.
