The Development Marketplace for the African Diaspora in Europe (D-MADE) is a competitive grant program aimed at funding innovative, small scale development projects which are profit-making, results-oriented and have the potential to be scaled up or replicated.
The program has two components:
(a) Competition of innovative projects which awards cash prizes to Europe-based African Diaspora business entrepreneurs that demonstrate ability to positively impact on the social welfare of the disadvantaged in Sub-Saharan Africa through creating employment opportunities, investing in local infrastructure, capacity building etc. This component also involves providing technical assistance to the winners for one year during the implementation of the project, and;
(b) Knowledge Exchange Forum, which provides a platform for D-MADE promoters, financial institutions and business development service providers to explore partnerships and business opportunities for the D-MADE finalists.
