Summary: 

The "Colombia Nos Une" ('Colombia Unites Us') program was created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Directorate of Migration Affairs, Consular and Citizen Services, specifically targeting Colombians living abroad.

It aims to :

  • Generate initiatives, projects and strategies aimed at promoting networking and collaborative activities among Colombians inside and outside the country and promote the positive contribution of migration to the problems and real needs of the country;
  • Manage institutional initiatives for Colombians abroad and their families in Colombia, on social security, acquisition of real estate, opening savings accounts in Colombian banks from abroad, proper utilization of remittances and facilities for the approval and recognition of qualifications;
  • Develop actions to promote orderly and regulated migration;
  • Promote actions aiming to promote a return to positive conditions for Colombians who decide to return home;
  • Develop social network processes which increase the capital of the Colombian communities abroad.
