Summary:

Since 2021, the partnership between Cenfri and IFAD through the Remittance Access Initiative (RAI) programme, co-financed by the European Union, has supported 14 remittance service providers (RSPs) in the seven PRIME Africa countries, to enable financial inclusion of remittance families. Through innovations on identity and digital financial services, RAI supports RSPs in lowering remittance transfer costs while simplifying onboarding requirements for low-income, rural and vulnerable families. Through dedicated capacity building to the 14 selected RSPs, the project is allowing the private sector to pilot new ways to conduct their CDD and KYC processes, while ensuring that remittance families are not left behind. This fiche presents the main results achieved at programme mid-term.
