
This project of the EU aims to contribute to the protection of rights of Armenian citizens leaving for work abroad, economic stabilisation and reintegration of labour/circular migrants and the prevention of irregular migration. The specific objective is to empower all stakeholders in Armenian labour/circular migration in order to make migration work better for development.
Main Activities
• Inter-agency networking within migration environment;
• Study of reintegration programs;
• Training and study trips for government agencies;
• Support to inter-agency information activities towards the public;
• Establishment of information centres for migration in four regions in Armenia;
• Labour market gap assessment and re-qualification courses;
• Capacity building – small grants, business plans, market research, business training;
• Media information campaign;
• Journalists award;
• Raising awareness of young people/schools through documentary films.
The project is expected to increase a) inter-agency communication in the migration environment; b) knowledge and expertise of government agencies dealing with migration issues; c) accessibility, range and quality of supportive services for returnees; and d) level of information of Armenian citizen travelling abroad for labour and potential migrants.
