Summary: 

The Royal Thai Government’s policy on Labour Migration, especially for the low-skilled workers group, has been implemented continuously under the management of the Committee on Illegal Migrant Workers Administration comprised of twenty-two relevant ministers and academics, employers and workers’ representatives. The procedures are as follows:

  •  Registering irregular migrant workers to allow them to stay temporarily in the Kingdom of Thailand while awaiting repatriation in accordance with the Cabinet resolution;
  •  Legalizing the status of irregular migrant workers to enter and work in the Kingdom of Thailand legally, with nationality verification provided by the Government of countries of origin, and;
  •  Importing migrant workers through the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Employment of Workers between the Royal Thai Government and the Government of the countries of origin.
