Summary: 

The Council has been established as an effective mechanism of cooperation. In practice, Russia and partners from CIS have signed bilateral and multilateral agreements and schemes for organized recruitment of foreign labour force which guarantee migrants with rights, competitive salaries, security and other crucial issues. Among the main achievements of the council are two documents: the Convention on the legal status of labour migrants and their family members of CIS member states; and Common principles and mechanisms of organizing recruitment of migrants work for the employment in the CIS member states.
