Summary: 

The Advisory Council on Migration (CCAM) is made up of a wide variety of social organizations and trade unions specialized in migration issues and in the promotion and defense of the human rights of migrants. The CCAM advises the National Migration Board on issues related to immigration and emigration of persons, as well as the design of migration policies and monitoring compliance with existing regulations. Other countries such as the Dominican Republic and El Salvador have been also implementing National Migration Councils that discuss and make recommendations to the executive on public policy regarding immigration.
