The partnership between the Moroccan National Federation of Public Works (FNBTP) and the German training organization 'Otto Benecke Stiftung', together with professional federations and German and Moroccan vocational training institutions, provides young people with vocational training in Morocco. The aim of the project is to contribute to the battle against youth unemployment and against irregular migration to Europe, as well as to provide vocational training in Morocco that meets international standards.
The project targets both young migrants and Moroccan youth - to together integrate into the job market, motivate each other and profit from each other at an intercultural level. Analysis of young people's potential allows for an identification of their skills and interests, and then through pre-qualifications and short internships, young people can be integrated into training programs.
Additionally, the Government of Morocco is creating a new center for vocational training in construction (CNBTP) in the industrial zone Fes Saïs airport, under the auspices of a new public-private partnership between the National Federation of Building and Public Works (FNBTP), the Office of Vocational Training and the Promotion of Work (OFPPT), the Fez/Meknes region, and the Management and Training Corporation (MTC). In the Fes/Meknes region, the courses will offer programs including apprenticeship training, alternative training, continuing education and validation of prior learning. It will target young people from the age of 15, as well as existing employees in the sector, with access options also for disadvantaged young people, women, residents of remote areas, and migrants.
