Summer University for the Young Moroccans living abroad

A whole ministry  in charge of Moroccans living abroad was created in the 90's. Gradually, their policy changed from making the distinction between different types of migrants; the first and second generation. 

 

There is now a quite detailed programme of engagement., through a Summer University where you have second, third generation migrants come for knowledge transfer. This program major goal is to strengthen the cultural, religious, and linguistic bonds between the Moroccan Diaspora and their native country.Two hundred (200) Moroccan students living abroad (MRE), aged between 18 and 25 years, will participate at the tenth (10th) edition of Summer Universities. The Ministry Delegate in Charge of Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs, in partnership with “Abdelmalek –Essaâdi” University, in Tetouan and “Ibn Zohr” University in Agadir, organize the tenth (10th) edition of Summer Universities, from July 14th to 23th, 2018.

 

The program objectives:

  • Preserve the national identity of young Moroccans living abroad.
  • Strengthen the relationship between the young generations of Moroccans living abroad and their country of origin.
  • Raise awareness about the socio-economical and political changes in Morocco.
